Ryan Kelley, who works here at El-Mel, shared this MS 290 story with STIHL Inc., and we thought we'd share it with you, as well. It's a true testiment to the durability of STIHL!

I just had an upset customer come in with an MS 290 that had fallen off his truck while going 60+ mph on the highway. He was expecting a very costly repair bill or even having to purchase a brand new saw. After settling him down we both began to look over the unit.

There were quite a few bruises, but the only broken piece was the twist lock holding on the air filter cover. After popping a couple pieces back into place, I pull started it and it started on the second pull and ran like the day it was new. After getting the part that it needed and sharpening the chain, the customer was very happy to have such a quality piece of equipment and only having to pay for one part that was a couple of dollars. Just thought I would pass this along.
